Water Safety Week went off wonderfully.  It is so much fun seeing the children learn how to swim.  I saw great improvement in all of my classes.  I hope that we have made a positive impact in our community.

Unfortunately, I became ill at the end of it.  I finally broke down and went to the doctors on Wed.  I found out that I have Broncitous, and had to take  a few days off of work.  So I went home early on Wed, and slept until Friday afternoon!  I felt a bit better today, so I cleaned my room and helped mom with a craft for a church thing.  I am just glad my chest doesn't hurt like it did.  I almost have my voice back, too.

Hopefully life will be back to normal by Monday, although normal can be kinda dull at times.

  • My yearly Report

So, I have not been on for a while.  Who really has the time.  Oh well.  For those of you who are still out there, here is what has been happening.

I am no longer at Ennis (pool para).  Not that  I did not want to go back, but the interviewers called me the day before the interview while I was at work, and the next day when I called, they were in the middle of interviews.  I was a little annoyed at the time, because nobody ever got back with me when I called or emailed.  But God had bigger plans in mind, I guess.

Anyway I am still at the YMCA, but I am now full time (as of Jan. 7th).  Going full time has been a big blessing.  I am actually making about $5,000 more than I would have at the school, and I am not a director.   Things have been a bit shaky for my director, and I am glad that I don't have to really deal with what she had to do.  The guy who got the full time possition that I had wanted bit the dust.  He did not do very well.  Unfortunatly they eliminated his job possition, and created a "new" job title for me.  SO basically I am in charge of the developmental aquatic programs (swim lessons, beginner swim team, lifeguard training, etc) Really all I am is Brett's (the aquatic director) assistant.  I am pretty much doing what I have been all along (which was the other guys job), but with a few more hours and the all important benefits.

Water safety week is here again.  We will have about 350 kids come through our pool each day during Easter week.  It is going to be a blast.   I just pray that everything goes smoothly and safely and that all of the kids learn new skills.

I also got a new to me car.   Sami was beginning to make funny noises and was becoming unreliable.  So I am now the proud owner of a 2000 Chevy Cavalier  (SP?).  We named her Sally. I am glad to be back in a Chevy.  Plus, God really provided and I was able to purchase her on my own!!

Echo 51 is doing well.  We have had a slight fluxuation on numbers.  My group started out to be the biggest, but a few of my children moved up to the next group, so we are now in the interesting phase of having 4-15 children on any given Sunday.  I like to say the more the merrier.  It has been a blast, and it is really neat to see the kids growing in strenght and knowledge of the Lord!!

Hope every one is doing well!!

  • Man, I really stink at updating this thing.  Oh well, life had kinda been in a rut the last few months, but all of that has changed in a few short days.

I have been guarding and teaching lessons all summer.  Camp was great (MMAD week).  I had the best dorm ever.  That is saying something because I have had a few dorms/cabins over the years.

Echo 51, (kids church) has been great.  I love my group and working along side the teens.  It is so amazing to see how much they have all grown in the Lord.

But now to the bigger news.  Kevin, my little brother, put in a bid on a house yesterday.   It is on Mt. Joy.  It needs work, but is perfect for him.  It also has a small house next door, that is not in as bad of shape.  I put in a verbal bid yesterday, too!

I have also applied to a few new jobs.  Just be in prayer about that and the house.  I really want to go where He wants me.  I love working at the Y, but there they don't pay me enough, and they gave the full time job to someone else.  But that is a whole other story that I don't feel like going into.

  • Update

So, it has been a long time since I last updated.  I guess xanga really is not a priority.  To be honest, I am not really ever online any more.

So this is what has been going on... I am working two jobs, One as a para at Howard T. Enis.  I teach special kids how to swim.  I also am an instructor/coach at the YMCA.  I just finished coordinating safety week where we had 300+ kids come through our pool every day for a week at the Y.  It was a ton of fun, and the people who helped out were wonderful.  I cannot wait for next year.

I am going to be terminated from Enis at the end of the year.  The joys of being a temp.  But I have the Y job to fall back on.  I am also up for the aquatic coordinator/assistant director position.  Hopefully I get it, but you never know with the Y.  Basically I will be doing most of what I am already doing, just more of it with more time to do it in.

On to bigger news, our church just moved into the new building!!! Yeah! and next week we will be starting Echo 51, an awesome children's church in our old building.  God is doing amazing things at LCC!

Well, I gotta run.  We have Frank's Bible study
